1. After an exhaustive hearing of Mr. Looker on

behalf of his client, Mr. Wong Lan Sheng, we are of opinion that no sufficient reason has been shown for modifying our

recommendation of 15th January, 1918, that the Yaumati and

Sham Shui Po Ferries should be put up to public tender.

In view of Section 3 of our recommendations

"Other things being equal in the tenders, existing Ferry Companies on the line should be given such considera- tion as may be possible" we ask for an assurance from the Government that the tenders received will be referred to this Committee for their advice: with a view to ensuring the proper consideration" of existing Ferry Companies.
